We built Compass to meet owners where they actually are.

Collins Tech has spent its work helping businesses get found in a world handing more of its decisions to AI. Compass is the part of that practice built for established small businesses — and built around a conversation, not a catalog.

Why this exists.

The advice aimed at small-business owners about AI tends to come in two flavors: alarming, or incomprehensible. Both leave you feeling like the only reasonable response is to spend money quickly and hope. We didn't want to add to that pile.

So we started Compass from a different premise — that the owner across the table knows their business far better than any outside expert will, and that the useful thing isn't a pitch. It's a clear-eyed read of what's changing, what it means for this business, and a practical way to act on it.

We'd rather be the people who give you a clear answer in twenty minutes than the people who sell you a package in sixty.

Why there are no prices on this page.

Every business we sit down with is shaped differently — different strengths, different starting points, different definitions of what "found" looks like. Quoting before we understand any of that would just be guessing dressed up as a price list. We'd rather have the conversation first, then tell you exactly what we'd do and what it costs, in writing, with no surprises.

How we actually work.

We listen more than we present. We start from what you already have. We tell you when something isn't worth doing as readily as when it is. And we measure the work by one test: when your customers ask AI for a recommendation, does your business come up — clearly, and as the right call?
